Introductions...
Here is where you can get to know me
Hello
Please let me introduce myself and let you know in more detail about my background
I live in The Royal Borough of Greenwich, London. I am a mature native British, forty-seven year old Nanny, married to a lovely man for 29 years and mother of two grown up young ladies. Also I have two nephews, aged one and two and a granddaughter.
I have been involved with children from an early age, having done baby-sitting duties coming from a family with three younger siblings.
My eldest is married with a child of her own and my youngest has her career. I chose this field of work due to my love of children and my family becoming independent, and myself still having loads of maternal instincts that could be used within a professional nanny position.
I have worked voluntarily with children both in the UK and in South America, as well as paid positions. I have been told I am like having a spare Aunty or grand-mama around. I thought that was rather a nice compliment. I adapt to my surroundings and I am equally comfortable in a shanty town with total poverty as I am in a multi-millionares home.
I have done a lot of carer work, as well as being a full time mum for many, many years, having looked after my grandmother,my mother and my children. This involved a lot of personal care and a lot of housekeeping duties. Those are the reasons for the gaps in my work history and for short work periods. I also travelled a little, doing volunteer work. I have studied and gained further qualifications in childcare. I was a mature student and I started my career later in life, BUT with age comes experience, patience and wisdom.
My personal interests are vast, I like to try everything at least once, which I also encourage in others...... you dont know if you like it unless you try it. Here is a short list of some things I enjoy.
